The city of Cambridge is too small to have its own transport network, like a
tube or tram, it don’t have much of a main line train station either. So there
is precious little for graffiti artist to paint, that is unless you count the
Cambridge buses that are all over the city.
These ugly vehicles could do with a little brightening up. If your up to the
challenge check out the battle
brief. The best entries will be displayed in the street art show
“Sub-Urban” due to take place on the 20th of May.
For two days in May Independent Art are turning a basement club in the city
of Cambridge into a street art gallery. With the aim off getting street artists
work up in a legitimate setting.
This is set up to be an awesome event. We’ll be running a fully stocked bar
on both days and would love to see as many artist as we can there. Even if there
not submitting work it’ll be cool to see guys black booking and generally
enjoying the atmosphere. We have also organise a set of decks for the sound
booth so those of you with the skills can have a jam during the show.
This is not a C’n’S event but I’d love to see you all there. If you
cant make it we’ll be having a sticker throw in so all you sticky back fans
can represent. Plus there winners of the “CamBus”
battle will have there work on show.
Look forward to seeing you all there.

Cambridge citizen and woman of mystery “Maya” shows the world what
she’s made of by netting a controversial commission. St Philip’s Church now
have a new painting on their walls but more than that, could this be the
beginning of social acceptance for graffiti.

"Look, the only thing not cliché anymore is free hand... even then, I can't even say that. Some will say freehand is overdone. You won't ever think of anything new, just change/warp something pre-existing. Even God had to create man out of His own image. Advice: watch your subject matter. Countless "artists" go out and make stencils because they think they have a voice. Fuck, it's vandalism to anyone but us. So, when you do art, do it for artists... don't change our minds; agree. Don't try to persuade; join. You don't have to be original to be a good artist, art is not about originality... it's quality. Be poignant too, but don't worry about doing something new just yet. When it comes it comes. Just get it down, that's all that matters. Get up, get out. God speed. Don't look back". - Homage
Zian!
I'm going through what I personally refer to as my 'De-Pandafication'.
Pandas are stupid. They're fat, lazy, and unhealthy. They're almost extinct, and they still won't fuck to save themselves. They live just to die.
I'm trying to not be a panda. I've been a panda my whole life and I'm working on being a man.

Ahh, yes the eternal argument: What is art?
Not for me, thank you.
You, (and I am making this assumption through the posts you have made, my basis alone) are a very intelligent person. I can tell, because you make it obvious.
We here on this forum have chosen a medium that is not particularly popular. Yes, in our shady underground labyrinths, we have managed to make spray painting a very formidable foe in the war against commonality. That is of course if that is what you choose it to be. Should you do this for fun and fun alone, so be it. Anyway, the people that tend to buy art, critique art and scoff at art are not artists. They are looking for vague, simple, easy to decipher examples of what they want to see or be reminded of. They are looking for comfort in art and through art. They are just a few limbs in that which is the social monster. They will continue their existence in the clouds and they will end it in the clouds. I say let them. They may call a poem I've written, or a picture I've drawn or a canvas that I have painted trash. They will carry it to the grave because they will not be dissuaded. They will die knowing only wrong. And I pray they do, it will be one less moron in my brick wall heaven. Popular is just another word for safe. It's acceptable. Popular nowadays is only what you think your neighbor nod yes to these days. When the wave comes, they will flock to the current and find safety in numbers. They will then die en mass. I will surf.
Those who are not getting the attention they deserve are not deserving of attention until they gain it themselves. Do not wait for your opporuntiy to be seen, go and make yourself seen. I do hear this all the time. This world is not totally lost. They are so many chances, that artists find to be too risky to take. You will hear them complain about people not liking it, or not being to sell it etc. Those are the wary and the meek artists, and the ones who hide in holes so to speak. I say stand on a street corner. Sign up for free forums (wink wink). cafepress.com is a most amazing and free site where you can do so many things with your art it's wonderful.
All I'm saying is, if you want to be seen, raise your arms.
Why not buy art to make it yours? Isn't that what art's for? Enjoyment? If an artist draws a picture worth looking at, then he should be able to replicate that effect in a new one.
Art is infinite.
Hasan, don't be the one who sells shit. Or makes shit or buys shit. It isn't right. I'd rather have a signed canvas from 'free', then a mason jar with yesterdays lunch.
